Cooperating - Serving

There are many different ways and areas to serve at Risen King. To find out more about a particular area, complete this quick form or contact the ministry leader of the area you are interested in. Apply to serve in the Worship Community here.

Audio/Visual (Ministry Ldr: Tom Maple)

The A/V team is responsible for running the media and sound equipment needed during worship services and other events. Opportunities include:

• Media Tech
• Podcast editing & posting
• Sound Tech
• Video streaming/posting
• Video production
• Special projects

Care Groups (Ministry Ldr: John Wiseman)

CARE ministries seek to provide support and hope to those going through Financial struggles, Divorce, Grief from the loss of someone you loved, and the journey through battling Cancer. Facilitators, hosts, host homes, care givers and administration help all are available.

• Financial Peace University
• Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group (in development)

Communications (Ministry Ldr: Robin Tompkins)

Thr purpose of the communications team is to make information readily available to those within the church and those not yet here. Volunteer positions include

• Development of Pre/post service slides
• Website & App announcements
• Social media facilitator
• Creating and Posting Weekly Online Bulletins
• Photographer of RK events

Community Life (Ministry Ldr: Jim Padilla)

The overall goal of Community Life is to help people feel more connected to God and one another from the moment they first visit throughout their involvement at Risen King. Some of the volunteer positions to help this to happen are:

• Ushers - helping people to find seats and assist with offering
• Greeters - at the outside and inside doors
• Information center
• Connection Sunday Team (setiup and/or teardown)

Facility and grounds volunteers help to make sure our house is ready for company through these serving opportunities:

• Landscaping crew/special projects
• Facility Maintenance/special projects

Front Office (Ministry Ldr: Robin Tompkins)

Often times someones first contact with Risen King is by calling or dropping into the Front Office. Sometimes there is more work to be done than staff to do them, so the following volunteer positions are very appreciated:

• Office fill-in-Answer phones, cover front office
• Database work periodically
• Special projects-folding and stuffing mailers, assembling materials, etc
• General assistance - copying, folding, cutting, computer work
• Duplicate DVD's and CD's

GroupLife ministries (Ministry Ldr: Dave Hall)

GroupLife entails all of our small group ministries such as lifegroups, focus groups and care groups. There are many ways to help GroupLife run smoothly and remain available to everyone:

• Host homes-host a group in your home, but not necessarily lead the group
• Group facilitators
• Facilitator apprentice-We train apprentices in groups until ready to lead on their own
• General office/administrative tasks-phone calls, emails, group records

King's Eagles: 50 Plus Age Group (Ministry Ldrs: John Wiseman & Bob Ray)

God’s plan for our over 50 years is for greater impact than we have ever had before. This group seeks to give opportunity to center on Jesus, connect with caring friends and cooperate with what God is doing in the world around them as we move through our golden years.

• ESYAC (Eagle Soar Youth Activity Center) mentors, tutors, cooks, backpack food helper, summer activities helps, drivers
• Francis Court Transitional Housing & Cornelius House furniture and household items pick-up and delivery, grounds keeping
• Mighty Men Woodcutters – cutting, splitting and delivering wood to the poor and needy
• King’s Eagles Leadership Team
• King’s Eagles Brunches, special events and activities helpers
• King’s Eagles Serving coordinator and volunteers
• King’s Eagles Dinner for 8 host homes and hosts
• King’s Eagles birthday, anniversary and get well card secretary/volunteer
• King’s Eagles Facebook and web page developer and maintainer
• King’s Eagles hospital, home or care facility visitation coordinator or volunteer

Marriage Ministries (Ministry Ldr: Jim Padilla)

Because we want to see every marriage be healthy, satisfying and life-giving, we come alongside couples who are struggling, successful or somewhere in between. How can you help?

• Mentor couples-couples with succcessful marriages mentoring those new to marriage
• Marriage group facilitators
• Marriage group apprentices
• Marriage group host homes

Men's Ministry (Ministry Ldr: Jim Padilla)

Men's ministry helps guys to grow in their faith journey and creates healthy accountability.

• Band of Brothers Facilitators-small groups of guys learning and growing together
• Event assistance

Mission/Outreach (Ministry Ldr: John Wiseman)

God calls us to be an Acts 1:8 Church Family that reaches out to our neighborhood, region, and the world. Some ways you can engage in this mission are:

• Community Surge Task Force Member
• Community Surge specific project coordinator

Oasis Café and Coffee Ministry (Jim Padilla)

Nothing welcomes someone like friendly people and a cup of coffee! Espresso drinks, blended drinks and brewed coffee are available in the lobby.

• Oasis Cafe Cashier-take orders & run the register
• Oasis Cafe Barista-make espresso drinks
• Oasis Cafe Bar back-helps prepare drinks
• Oasis Cafe Leader-manage, recruit, encourage, appreciate, fill in as necessary
• Maintain supplies
• Schedule volunteers
• Coffee Ministry Attendants-brew and serve drip coffee



Prayer Ministries (Ministry Ldr: Jen McCloskey)

We need the power of God to live out this life and we tap into that power through prayer. Our prayer ministries team provides opportunities for people to grow in their prayer life. Ways you can help are:

• Prayer Group Leaders
• Prayer Room setup, décor, upkeep and teardown
• Prayer events-24 hours of prayer, prophetic encouragement sessions
• Publishing/designing materials
• Duplicating and packaging DVD’s
• Copying/Binding booklets



Technical services (Ministry Ldr: Robin Tompkins)

Technology helps:

• Website maintenance
• Computer Troubleshooting/maintenance
• App maintenance

U-20 ministries
(KIDS Ministry Ldr: Sarah Brackett, Youth Ministry Ldr: Jason Hanson)

The purpose of U-20 ministries is to put relationship with Jesus Christ within reach for kids from birth through High School. The many ways to volunteer include:

Sunday Morning Team (weekly for 4 months)-
• Babies and Toddlers
• Preschool
• Elementary
• Jr. High
• High School
• Worship MC
• Substitute (you decide when, how often and age to work with)

Mid Week (weekly)
• 1st Friday and 3rd Tuesday evenings - Jr High
• Jr High Club at Mistletoe School (11:45a-12:15p)
• Wednesday evenings - High School Youth Group

Worship Ministries (Ministry contact: Erin Garrison)

This team is responsible for leading others into worship of our great God.
