Man Praying

Beginning with Jesus

The most important decision your will ever make.

What does God think of you?

A LOT! God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. The Bible says that:

God so loved the World that He gave His one and only Son, (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

God knows everything that is happening in your life and He wants you to have an abundant life. Jesus said,

I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.(John 10:10)

The Problem: Your sin separates you from God

Sin is everything we do, think and say that doesn't line up with God's standard of holiness. Not a single person is good enough on our own. The Bible says:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

The effect of sin on us is spiritual death, which means separation from God.

The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

The Solution: God sent Jesus to die for your sins.

God's love for you is so deep that He made a way for you to be without sin and have a relationship with Him.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.(Romans 5:8).

The answer is really quite simple. We are told that God offers salvation as a free gift. All you have to do is believe and accept His gift.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified (made right with God), and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

Your Response: Tell God what you're thinking.

When someone first believes in Jesus as the One who saves them from sin and makes them right with God, the natural response is to thank God for His salvation in prayer. Prayer is just talking to God. Here is a sample prayer that you could model your prayer after:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust Jesus alone as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him.

Thank you for your promise to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you for your promise that I now have eternal life with you. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me through the deep valley. Thank you for hearing this prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Did you trust Jesus today?

If so, it is important that you tell someone who can help you to grow in your relationship with Him. We would love to help you get started.
